You seem to want to purge or perform what amounts to a high pressure wash on a power room’s reinforced concrete (RC) roof.

Steps for High-Pressure Washing an RC Roof

Safety Preparations:

Electrical Safety: Since this is power room one must ensure all electrical power is switched off otherwise make sure the electrical facilities are well protected by waterproofing.

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): Able-bodied employees should be permitted to work untied and are encouraged to wear protective gears which includes helmets, gloves, goggles and waterproof boots.

Work Area Protection: Make sure no equipment or other materials which would be damaged by overspray or water are in the vicinity of the procedure.

Reinforced concrete Inspection:

Find out whether the condition of the roofing material of RC roof is satisfactory or not. But if you observe any cracks or other poor spots, do not pressure-clean them because that will further compound the problem.

Cleaning Agent:

In the case of stains on concrete its advisable to use mild detergent, or a cleaner that is specifically formulated for concrete.
DO NOT clean the concrete surface with acidic cleaners as they are harmful to the surface.

Equipment Setup:

Use a high-pressure washer (around 2000 to 3000 psi). A rotating nozzle (turbo nozzle) can help dislodge dirt without focusing too long in one area.
Adjust the pressure to ensure that it doesn't erode the concrete. Always test on a small area first.

RC Roof Washing Process:

It is correct to begin from the top and move from upward to downward in order that any dust or particle that has already fallen, will do it in the desired direction of the cleaned place.

The hose nozzle is recommended to be set at forty-five degree and the hose maintained at a distance of thirty centimeters to one feet from the surface to be cleaned.
Also do not spray for long lasting time for one area because it contributes to wearing away of the concrete.

RC Roof Post-Wash Inspection:

Finally each time the roof of the building has been washed, it is recommended to look for fresh sign of erosion or any sign of damage on the roof.
If, the roof has betted off then it will be advisable to apply a sealer on it to ensure that the concrete is not destroyed later.

Roof Cleaning Tips:

Drainage: It is needed that the water runoff should be channeled to prevent occurrence of floods.
Weather: Perform the task on a day of no rain because the roof will be able to dry up shortly after the cleaning exercise has been carried out.
